Milestone of SCSS |
||||||||||||||||||||
|
The funding for SCSS has been authorized in April 2001. SCSS aims to start operation in the VUV by the end of 2005, and eventually down to 3.6 nm. This is within the"water window" region, a range of wavelengths which is suitable to study "wet material" such as living cells, or biological samples. By accumulating infomation through the construction and the operation of the SCSS test accelerator, we hope to build an X-ray FEL, which aims to reach 0.1 nm (X-ray region). |
